CYCDI Appoints Prof. Adeniyi Olayanju to its Board of Trustees as Head Food Security, Digital Sustainability and Wealth Creation

Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI) is delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Adeniyi Olayanju to its Board of Trustees as Head Food Security, Digital Sustainability and Wealth Creation
Adeniyi OLAYANJU is a Professor of Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization, the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Philomath University Abuja and the Immediate Past Vice – Chancellor of Landmark University, Kwara State. He had part of his training at the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, CIAE, Bhopal MP, India and China Bamboo Research Centre CBRC, Hangzhou, China. He is currently, a Visiting Professor to the Global Hidden Hunger Program of University of Toronto, Canada.

Professor Olayanju was the Dean of Student Affairs of FUNAAB and Pioneer Dean of Engineering, OYSCATECH. He delivered the 51st Inaugural Lecture of FUNAAB titled: Man, Material and Machine - The Tricycle of Agricultural Mechanization.

As an Undergraduate at the University of Ibadan, he was on the Dean’s Honours list and the President of Agricultural Engineering Students’ Society. He got the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Graduate of the Year Award in 1996. He is a Fellow of many professional bodies and has over 160 published articles in reputable national and international journals.

He has been involved in the execution of some national and international projects such as DFID/PrOpCom Rice Project, UNDP/SMEDAN Auto-Spare Parts Project, RMRDC/FIIRO Beniseed Project and IITA/FUNAAB Cassava Weed Project. Some of these have also won awards and financial gains for his university.

Prof Olayanju believe in building the competencies of youth through knowledge impartation and skill acquisition. He put together a seamless SDGs team in Landmark University and drove it with all sense of responsibility and vigor thereby attracting resource persons from various national and international platforms. This eventually made Landmark to appear in Times Higher Education Impact Ranking list, emerging as the 5th Best ranked University in Nigeria. He is a game changer, a very rich mixture of academic and professional entity raising hope and providing guidelines to make the 2030 SDGs agenda achievable.
